Meet Daveda Hawkins
Daveda Hawkins was introduced to modeling at the age of ten as a way to overcome extreme shyness. Her journey began at Southern Enterprise Charm School, where she quickly advanced from student to instructor, teaching children, teens, and adults in areas such as poise, confidence, and stage presence. She also choreographed and produced fashion shows, igniting a passion for fashion, leadership, and personal development.
During her time at The University of Akron, Daveda took her skills to the next level by producing fashion shows for NAACP and Black United Students, solidifying her love for event production and empowerment through the arts.
In April 2003, she founded Segami International Inc., serving as President and CEO for seven years. Under her leadership, Segami flourished, delivering high-impact modeling, charm, and leadership programs, mentoring young women into Junior Instructors, and producing professional fashion show graduations. She also cultivated a strong parent committee and built relationships with industry experts to enhance program quality.
In 2010, Segami International, Inc. was rebranded as B-Elite Modeling and Charm School, continuing its mission of building confidence, self-worth, and professionalism. By 2014, Daveda expanded her reach into the world of pageantry, launching B-Elite Pageants. Affectionately known as “Ms. D” by contestants and parents, she has hosted numerous pageants celebrating girls ages 3-17 and women ages 25 and older, and recently introduced her first male competition for men 25 and older.

For over a decade, I have had the privilege of mentoring, coaching, and transforming the lives of more than 300 women and girls through etiquette training, public speaking workshops, creative writing intensives, runway coaching, and pageantry. But the true measure of impact isn't just in the numbers—it's in the confidence gained, the voices found, and the dreams realized.
Many of the women and girls I’ve worked with don’t just take a single workshop and move on. They return year after year, growing, evolving, and stepping into their full potential. They compete in pageants multiple times, refining their skills and deepening their confidence. They volunteer, paying it forward to uplift the next generation. Some even join my team, becoming mentors, coaches, and leaders themselves.
This is more than a program—it's a movement. A space where women and girls discover their power, embrace their uniqueness, and step into the spotlight with unwavering confidence. And the journey is just beginning.

Why I’m Passionate About Building Confidence
As a child, I was extremely shy—the kind of shy that made me shrink in rooms, avoid eye contact, and struggle to find my voice. My mother saw this and made a decision that would change my life forever—she enrolled me in a local charm school. At the time, I had no idea what was ahead, but what I found was more than just posture lessons and runway walks. I found confidence. I found my voice. I found the courage to step into any room and own my space.
That experience transformed my journey and ignited a passion in me to help others experience the same breakthrough. I know what it’s like to doubt yourself, to feel invisible, to battle with confidence—and I also know what it feels like to overcome it, to step into your power, and to thrive. That’s why I dedicate my life to helping women and girls do the same.
Through mentorship, coaching, workshops, and pageantry, I help others discover their confidence, embrace their uniqueness, and walk boldly in their purpose—just like I learned to do all those years ago. Because when you build confidence, you don’t just change your mindset—you change your entire life.
